Sheriff Jason Parker has repeatedly failed the people of Webster Parish—broken promises, costly delays, surprising missteps, and leadership that favors optics over outcomes. The Committee of Heart of Webster is unyielding in our mission: we will continue digging until the full truth is in the light. It’s not just about accountability—it’s about justice, and nothing short of it.
I. The Jail That Was Supposed to Fix Everything—But Didn’t
Sheriff Parker stood over a crumbling women’s jail for years; everyone in the community knew it was unsafe and failing. Yet groundbreaking only began in April 2025—nearly five years into his tenure and just months ago, not when the problem first became urgent. That’s not leadership. That’s negligence. Taxpayers paid the price. His delay turned a solvable fix into a multi-million-dollar debacle.
II. An Escape, a Failure in Security
In April 2025, a woman attempting to flee the jail did just that—escaped. Parker defended the failure by blaming a malfunctioning elevator safety lock and a distracted jailer. What happen to the Jailer? What actions has the Sheriff place in affect to prevent this?
Let that sink in: your sheriff had the money, the responsibility, and the time—but operational basics failed. If this was a private-sector mistake, Parker would have been fired—not commended.
III. Falsified Documents & Deputy Arrest
In June 2025, Parker fired—and then recorded the arrest of—Detective Spencer White, revealing a shocking act of malfeasance. White had forged incident reports, falsely claimed a burglary, used fabricated case numbers, and abused fellow deputies’ credentials
Parker claims “accountability is non-negotiable.” But after years of failed projects, quiet money, and a sheriff’s office that saves face while letting problems fester, this moment appears reactive—designed to protect his image, not prevent misconduct.
IV. Law Changes Over Human Safety—Priority Misplaced
When a tragic shooting wounded six people at an unpermitted bonfire in January 2025, Parker didn’t ask “why did this happen?” First, he pushed to change the law to ticket event hosts—even proposing reforms around event permitting.
Meanwhile, the victims of the tragedy—our community—were sidelined by lawmaking priorities.
V. A Pattern of Broken Promises
Add to the mix:
-
No projection-based planning for jail capacity.
-
A clear lack of monthly transparency metrics.
-
A sheriff’s office swimming in cash—yet lacking timely action.
-
Multiple facilities draining resources, no efficiency plan.
Each unmet promise builds a pattern. Each delayed effort chips away at trust.
VI. Why the Heart of Webster Committee Will Not Back Down
The Committee of Heart of Webster represents the people who live here. We demand:
-
Full financial transparency: budgets, audit trails, timelines.
-
Accountability from Parker—now, not later.
-
Truth in the public record—even if it breaks his political image.
We are committed to uncovering the workarounds, the delays, the cash reserves, and the broken houses behind the headlines.
Sheriff Parker may control the press spots and photo ops—but we control the truth. He may try to bury history behind PR, but we will bring it forward. This is about far more than politics. It’s about the safety of our neighbors, the courage of our community, and the accountability of every official in our parish. We don’t need a politician, We Need A Man of Action, Together WE WILL RISE!
