The Sheriff’s Silence Speaks Louder Than His Words

He’s missing when crime hits, missing when deputies suffer, and missing when taxpayers demand answers.

In Webster Parish, we’ve heard every promise under the sun. Safer streets. Better pay for deputies. Transparency with taxpayers. But year after year, those promises dissolve into silence, excuses, and photo ops.

Meanwhile, our community lives with the consequences. Deputies stretched thin. Families waiting months for answers. Victims of crime left in the dark. Empty words won’t patch the holes in trust that have been torn wide open.

The truth is, leadership isn’t about polished speeches or showing up when the cameras roll. Leadership is about being present in the hard moments—when crime rattles our neighborhoods, when deputies are struggling, and when citizens demand answers.

And where has our sheriff been? Missing in action.

While other parishes are finding ways to move forward, Webster is stuck in neutral. Our crime score is still in the red. Our deputies are still the lowest paid in the state. Our taxpayers are still asking: Where is the money going?

But here’s the thing: real change doesn’t come from behind a badge or a desk. Real change comes from people—neighbors, parents, workers, business owners—who decide they’ve had enough.

We’ve had enough of closed doors. Enough of excuses. Enough of being told to accept less while promises pile up like unpaid bills.

The sheriff may think he can control the narrative by staying quiet. But silence is an answer, and the people of Webster Parish are listening loud and clear.

This movement isn’t about politics. It isn’t about titles. It’s about us—our safety, our families, and our future. We don’t need another round of empty pledges. We need action, accountability, and leaders who serve the people, not themselves.

Until then, the silence will keep speaking. And it’s saying more than the sheriff ever has.
